It’s a common hurdle that many a spiritual folk have wrestled with and continue to wrestle with: getting that bloody voice in the head to zip it. It just never seems to know how to keep quiet and speak only when asked to. Strange isn’t it? This voice seems to know everything about everything except how to stop talking. It’s almost as if its survival is dependent upon it being given constant attention… like a needy attention-starved child.
Perhaps that’s all it is; consciousness yearning to return to itself, to no longer be rejected and ignored by itself.
Of course, there’s an important part to that little conundrum that obliterates any possibility of victimhood; that child who wants attention is also dependent upon it being ignored.
It wants most of your attention but not all of it. Most of your attention allows it to keep a foothold on maintaining the mirage of its unworthy existence, all of your attention however, would mean that it would be seen as just that: a mirage. (A mirage being held in a field of unending acceptance)
In order for silence to reign, in order for this voice to stop, you have to look at how it started. Fortunately, we don’t need to turn over every dark stone from childhood to find that out. How it started is revealed in how it continues to start every time it speaks. The next time it whispers in your ear, listen closely; not to what its words are pointing to but where its words are coming from. 10 times out of 10 you’ll find that it’s a scrambling, panicked mess trying to appear composed, confident and certain. 10 times out of 10 you’ll find a scared child who was told to grow up, figure out how to save the world, and make it go round without skipping a beat.
Imagine yelling into a deep cave “Hey you, you don’t belong here! You’d better figure out a way to save yourself!!!” and then taking the advice from the echo you hear as though you didn’t know who gave it. Your inner voice is the echo of the original survival instructions you first gave yourself long ago; it’s not some foreign intruder that needs to be dealt with. In fact, it first arose because YOU once accepted the idea that you are a foreign intruder that needs to be dealt with.
All this means is that silence will only reign supreme once you begin testing the hypothesis that you DO belong here and that nothing needs to be corrected. How exactly do you test it? Recognize (continuously) that YOU are the only one who has a voice; that if a second voice enters your mind, it can only be the ghost of a painful past, an echo of an innocent mind that did its best to navigate a confusing and turbulent world.
You are silence.
Only silence has a voice.
When you recognize this, silence is all you’ll hear.

Wow!!! That kind of blew my mind!! “Only silence has a voice.” Love that!!! Thanks Kyle!!! ❤️
Sayonara mind! ❤️🙏
Yes, this inner narrator that plays a mirad of disguises to try to prove it is actually this separate entity, i, me, mine. And the unchanging silence beneath is the love that allows it to pretend it’s play and yet knows it’s own true reality as what we are. And knows that any and all will discover it, this unchanging truth and peace that we are
