One Sanity Fits All (Silent Transmissions: Issue #10)

Written by Kyle Hoobin

A time will come in the evolution of human beings when the concept of mental health will disappear and be replaced with a universally recognized understanding of what it means to be sane.

At the moment, sanity, like mental health, is merely a concept; a concept that’s open to interpretation. When sanity is open to interpretation, you have a world full of insane people.

So who determines what true sanity is then? Nobody. That’s why it’s called sanity; it’s the way things are naturally designed to unfold when there’s no interference from a human mind.

But what would that look like?

Well, rather than trying to paint a utopian vision of life on earth, why don’t we just highlight what sanity would NOT look like?

For example…

… On the level of day-to-day human interaction, it probably wouldn’t include human beings isolating themselves within elaborate boxes, emerging once and a while to check the mail, go to work, or wave hello to their neighbors whom they’ve lived next to for 14 years (whose names they still can’t remember)…

…It probably wouldn’t have human beings waking up in the morning, filling their own heads with all of the survival strategies needed to secure food, shelter, and clothing because at any moment, other human beings could come along and feel compelled to place them on the street, starve them, and ignore them indefinitely…

…It likely wouldn’t turn entertainment into a religion; praising one human being over another, even if that one human being could pretend to be other human beings really well, sing songs really well, or perform athletic feats really well…

…It’s unlikely that human beings would place any importance whatsoever on beliefs when the gift of existence was constantly staring them right in the face…

…Sanity probably wouldn’t require a complicated process of sharing, where the use of numbers proved and demanded one’s intent to reciprocate an offering of kindness and compassion…

…Possessions would probably be taken a little less seriously and not be seen as proof of one’s value and worthiness to exist…

…It probably wouldn’t include drawing a line in the sand and calling what’s on each side of that line a ‘special’ name thereby allowing human beings to play a serious game of ‘king of the castle’ on each side…

…Human bodies would likely not be seen as generators of consciousness and be assigned fictitious identities that attempt to further reinforce the appearance of separateness from other human bodies and life itself…

…It likely wouldn’t make sense to wear clothes if the climate didn’t warrant it, nor would it make sense to view the body’s reproductive organs (and their joyful uses) as shameful.

…It probably… well, needless to say, if we continued to look around at the current state of things on the planet, this list could take a while to finish.

It doesn’t take much to notice that everything mentioned above originated from trauma; trauma experienced by a human being who early on in life was surrounded by other traumatized human beings who didn’t know any other way to raise a child than through traumatic means.

So how will this madness ever come to an end? It seems like we’re stuck in a never-ending cycle of the blind leading the blind.

Through the gift of sight.

Through the gift of seeing that nothing gets better when you view yourself as a victim of life’s injustices.

Through the gift of seeing that when you acknowledge that you don’t really know who you are, you’re not separate from life anymore.

Through the gift of seeing that life is a gift only when it’s no longer lived as a means to an end.

Through the gift of seeing that you and 8 billion other human beings on the planet are in the same boat; that almost every human being is struggling to navigate a world that acts as if unity is too good to be true.

Sight exists!

Therefore, our ancient tradition of perpetuating trauma with each new generation does in fact have an expiration date… because sight is also contagious. Eventually, all human beings will see. Eventually, all blindness will end.

Fortunately, you don’t have to miss out just because you’re living in these present times.

Just open your eyes.

Beautiful Kyle, thank you 🙏. You have a great gift for writing.

As for shedding my clothes this summer, I’m not sure that will be as easy as opening my eyes ( unless it’s just you and I in your backyard or something 😂

🤣 since we’re playing with words – lets just say that closed eyes and clothes are the same thing… opened eyes = your birthday suit. Closed eyes = the hell of having to wear the latest fashion. Reminds me of the Adam and Eve story – it says when their eyes were opened, they saw that they were naked and clothed themselves (I would edit that to say when their eyes became closed, they saw that they were naked and clothed themselves.) Clothes and nakedness are dependent on each other to exist. My cat and dogs have no idea what clothes and nakedness means, they just exist, lick themselves, eat, poop, sleep, and that’s enough 🐕 🐈.

Yes, and at the same time, isn’t it all by design? Or is that just another concept?
For example: In non-resistance to each moment, I have found myself in quiet isolation most of the time for the last few years with very little social interaction. Only rarely, with a few casual friends and I have no family remaining (except my partner). When social opportunities do arise, the universe rarely guides me to them. However, when it does, they are quietly wonderful!

I have had very few opportunities to “help” in any overt way and have no idea what my life purpose is– if there is such a thing. And yet, the universe continually guides me, the way it does, providing exactly what I need when I need it. And in this moment, I find myself writing to you with very little understanding as to why I’m here. And yet, here I am!

However, now having written this, I feel as though I have simply written to myself! Thank you for this impetus, Kyle! Always grateful for you! 😎

Would love to hear from you!

Hey Anna, Design — yes! You’re already aware of it; seeing the guidance move you exactly where you need to go. And indeed, the design includes both sanity and insanity 🤪. As far as purpose goes, I would say that your very existence is purpose unfolding, you ARE the purpose, manifesting moment to moment (no need for an additional mind-made purpose to be superimposed on top of the greater cosmic purpose). You’re the paintbrush, fortunately you’re not the one holding it. I appreciate your feedback! 🙏❤️

When I read, “You are the purpose,” I can’t begin to express the sudden relief enveloping the “being” of me… and the expansion within!!!
And I agree with Kay. The joy and freedom in being the paintbrush but not the one holding it feels amazing!! ❤️❤️❤️
        Thank you.

Another wonderful post Kyle! I don’t think I can add anything as eloquently as the others who commented, but I sure loved your replies! “You’re the paintbrush, fortunately you’re not the one holding it.” So grateful for that!! 😆❤️
